K-12 Education

Our Centers are actively involved in early awareness outreach programs designed to stimulate interest in college-level science and engineering. These programs are targeted at the entire community of middle school students in the Cambridge Public Schools so as to reach the diverse Cambridge population.

• Over 500 seventh graders and their teachers from CPS are invited to Harvard

• They meet with former Cambridge Public school students now in college

• Students tour the campus and learn about college life and financial aid

• Center faculty explain their research and the societal benefits

• Center faculty also participate in special programs such as the Saturday Science Academy for high school students and the Harvard Foundation K-12 Science Day for members of underrepresented groups
